Maca, its scientific nameLepidium Meyenii, is a plant of the Brassicaceae family that is endemic to the Peruvian Andes. It has been used as food, but also for medicinal purposes for more than 4,000 years. This tuber, considered an adaptogenic plant in the same way as ginseng or rhodiola, has beneficial properties from a physical and intellectual point of view. The benefits of maca also concern its very powerful aphrodisiac properties. Called Peruvian Maca or Peruvian Maca, it is most often consumed in the form of food supplements, in powder or capsules.
